About Beto O'Rourke:
Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 16th congressional district. He was elected in November 2012, defeating incumbent Silvestre Reyes in the Democratic primary, and Republican Barbara Carrasco in the general election. The district includes most of El Paso. Prior to his election to Congress, O'Rourke was the District 8 representative on the El Paso city council from June 2005 to June 2011.
